By utilizing stickers, IMVU make a very small percentage of the sale, but you benefit from having a paper-trail of who has purchased your badge. By making customers personally message you and send credits directly, you are eating into your potential reach and effectiveness. Resistance with regards to badges is more than futile for the vast majority of badge creators it is eating into your potential profits. There is also this artistic resilience in place to try and resist IMVU getting a cut of absolutely every little thing you do. IMVU have expressed a desire in the past with credit sending caps, etc to crack down on artists selling their wares by direct transfer. I use my shop and art sales as a primary source of funding badges when I cant afford to buy credits. It sucks, but we all accepted it and yes, we complain about it but we complain about the thieves and scammers, not the fact that other people dont want to dish out k to fund our badges for us. Thanks to scam artists and thieves, that attitude changed drastically.
Was I a little bummed it didnt get more donations or have more interested in general? I think most badgers are. So, not sure who used me as an example on burning badgers but….
